ROMANIA's defense industry supports NATO as industry representative at ACT-NIAG conference
The NATO Industry Advisory Group – ACT meets regularly in the United States, and this year met in April at NATO Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk, Virginia.
On behalf of the defense industry in ROMANIA, the representatives of ROMARM participated, who were able to discuss the common interests, as an integral part within the Alliance, through the activity in the defense industry.
At the opening of the event, General Phillippe Lavigne, Allied Commander-in-Chief of Transformation, stressed the importance of niche industry collaboration on armed conflict by adopting a new mindset, given that NATO aims to use emerging and disruptive technologies. to adapt to military needs.
“Innovation can be found in small and medium-sized companies in all NATO countries,” said General Phillippe Lavigne, the Allied Commander-in-Chief of Transformation at the conference, a statement we also support through the activities of the Employers’ Defense Industry Organization (OPIA).

The NATO Industrial Advisory Group, called NIAG, was established in 1968 and brings together businessmen from the defense industry, high-ranking industrialists from Alliance countries or other partner countries.
The main purpose of the NIAG Advisory Body is to advise NATO and the Conference of National Armaments Directors on critical issues, involving expertise and cooperation in the field of armaments or technological cooperation of the Alliance.
