OPIA participates in BSDA, a European-level event in the field of defense and security

The team of the Employers’ Organization “Defense Industry” will participate between 18 and 20 May 2022 in the most important international conference organized in the Black Sea region, dedicated to the aeronautical industry, defense, national security and private security – Black Sea Defense and Aerospace (BSDA).

Black Sea Defense & amp; Aerospace brings together at Romaero Băneasa over 380 exhibitors in the fields of defense, cyber security and aeronautics. The event is the largest of its kind in Eastern Europe and brings together participants from 32 countries, prestigious companies in the country and abroad, which present the current state of development of military equipment and capabilities, as well as the latest trends and technical solutions, obtained in scientific research in the field of security and defense.

Romania will be represented by a number of niche companies, such as the ROMARM National Company and its subsidiaries, which will participate as exhibitors and sponsors of the BSDA 2022 event.

For OPIA representatives, the event is an opportunity to discuss with Romanian and foreign producers in the fields of cyber defense and security.

BSDA 2022 showcases the latest technologies in the field of defense

BSDA 2022 presents the latest technologies in the field of defense, and this year’s event will be the largest edition of BSDA to date, including all five operational areas: terrestrial, naval, air, cyber and space. This year will see the participation of the world’s largest companies in the field of defense and security such as: Lockheed Martin, the largest contractor in the world, Raytheon, General Dynamics, General Dynamics European Land Systems, Harris, Bell, Textron, L3 Technologies, FLIR Systems, Rockwell Collins, Elbit Systems, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Thales, Airbus, Airbus Helicopters, Naval Group, BAE Systems, L3Harris, MBDA, DAMEN, IVECO Defense Vehicles, Beretta, and Leonardo.

Also, the largest manufacturers of the defense industry in Romania, namely ROMARM, UTI group, Romaero, Aerostar SA, Rom Tech, Dacia Automobile, IAR Brasov, BlueSpace Technology and Pro Optica will exhibit the latest technologies and equipment.

The Romanian group of technology and military equipment, ROMARM will present at the BSDA stand a series of products compatible with NATO systems, from the category of ammunition, projectiles, weapons and armored vehicles.

Along with the major commercial players in the industry, the event will host a technical exhibition of the Romanian and US Armed Forces, as well as structures under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, ANCOM, Radiocom and STS.

BSDA 2022, an event supported by the most important companies

The BSDA expo-conference is organized with the support of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, SRI, ANCEX, the Special Telecommunications Service, RADIOCOM, ANCOM, as well as with the support of the Romanian Post, Patromil and OPIAR.

As this year, the Romanian state has increased the budget dedicated to defense, we hope to find within BSDA a change in Romanian companies in the field, ie more military acquisitions, investments in research programs and military equipment or technology in the field of security.

Within BSDA, the members of the “Defense Industry” Employers’ Organization aim to facilitate the dialogue between the representatives of the Romanian defense industry, the international companies in this field, the relevant public institutions in this sector, as well as other potential clients from the country and abroad. identifying opportunities for collaboration and cooperation in order to develop, increase the profit and competitiveness of its members and the defense industry in Romania.
