Today, 57 state-owned and private companies operating in the defense industry gathered in the General Assembly of the Defense Industry Employers’ Organization to elect their leadership for the next four years.

The employers’ organization is established under Law No. 62/2011 on social dialogue and has the role of contributing to the achievement of the tripartite employer-union-Government dialogue regarding the strategic defense industry sector, ensuring the unitary representation of companies in the field.

The new management structure is as follows:

  • President: Răzvan Marian Pîrcălăbescu – General Manager, National Company ROMARM SA
  • Vice President: Nasty–Marian Vlădoiu – Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Romania–Ukraine
  • Members of the Board of Directors:
    • Mircea Petru Țântău – General Manager, S. Carfil SA
    • Marin Chifelea – General Manager, S. Metrom SA
    • Radu Bogdan – Administrator, Cyclon Enterprise SRL

In his speech, the new president, Răzvan Marian Pîrcălăbescu, emphasized the importance of the responsibility of this mandate, stating that “the defense industry needs a strong, professional and respected voice, capable of coherently representing the interests of our companies in relation to state institutions”.

He highlighted the fact that the Employers’ Organization must become an active partner in the formulation of public policies, insisting on the need to modernize, invest and consolidate Romania’s position in international defense chains. At the same time, he noted that “only through unity and an integrated approach can we transform the defense industry into a real engine of national security”.

In the new mandate, he expressed his commitment to the implementation of the Program:

“11 DIRECTIONS FOR A STRONG MANDATE”

  1. A real influence in the dialogue with state institutions.

The organization must be present at the table where major decisions are made. No legislative change, no strategy, no investment affecting the defense industry must be established without our point of view.
The central role of the industry must be understood and respected at the government level.

  1. Modernization of the industry and accelerated access to financing.

Re-technologizing, digitalization, Industry 4.0, standardization, quality – all must become real priorities.

  1. Building firm and professional institutional relations with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Defense, the Government and the Parliament.

My administrative experience allows me to rebuild these bridges on solid foundations.

  1. Concrete support for member companies.

We will create a real platform for dialogue between members, with efficient working groups, clear procedures and permanent consultation.

  1. Elaboration of a coherent national strategy for the defense industry, adapted to the international geopolitical context.
  2. Building an integrated long-term strategy – technology, European funds, exports, young specialists.
  3. Development of human resources and collaboration with the academic environment.
  4. A new, modern and functional headquarters for the organization – a standard of professionalism.
  5. Association with domestic and international federations and confederations, in order to increase influence and access to major projects. Strengthening the tripartite dialogue and increasing the role of the organization in decisions concerning the defense industry. Intensifying international cooperation by affiliation with specialized federations and confederations;
  6. Transparency, integrity and professionalism.

I undertake an open, balanced, honest and results-oriented mandate.

By electing this new leadership, the Defense Industry Employers’ Organization reaffirms its mission to coherently and professionally represent the interests of its member companies, contributing to the consolidation of a strategic sector essential for Romania.
