The Committee for Defence, Public Order and Safety, in the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, hosted a meeting of the delegation of the Committee for the Examination of Foreign Investments from the Department of Defense of the United States of America (U.S.), the Ministry of Economy and representatives of economic operators in the industry defense, within the scope of the bilateral cooperation activities subscribed to the Romanian-American Strategic Partnership and in the context of the national efforts to ensure and implement the legislative framework for the examination of foreign direct investments.
This meeting was attended by defense industry operators and a considerable number of members of the Defense Industry Employers’ Organization (O.P.I.A.). The main topic of the discussion was to support and strengthen the expertise of the Romanian side in analyzing the impact of foreign investments on security and public order.
Following the discussions, the necessity of organizing an intergovernmental working group that would correlate the interest of Romanian profile companies in cooperation with American companies, within the limits of government policies that define the Romanian-American strategic partnership, emerged.
