OPIA Romania members attended ICDDA 2022
Romanian defense industry stakeholders met our existing and future business partners at Industrial Cooperation Days in Defense and Aerospace.
ICDDA 2022 brings together SMEs, suppliers, niche companies and MAIN CONTRACTORS OPERATING in the defence, aviation and space industries in ANKARA.
The 5th Industrial Cooperation Days in Defense and Aerospace (ICDDA 2022), which is supported by the PRESIDENCY OF DEFENSE INDUSTRIES and MINISTRY OF TRADE and organized by OSTIM DEFENSE AND AVIATION CLUSTER (OSSA), took place at Ankara ATO Congresium, on October 12-14, 2022.
ICDDA business meetings, conferences and workshops have been organised to identify countries or regions with specific requirements and opportunities that can be translated into concrete actions and collaborations for defence companies. This expo-conference proved to be extremely prolific for highlighting business or investment opportunities for our country.
B2B presentations at the highest level, supported by CN ROMARM SA
Among the companies present at the conference were CN ROMARM SA, Uzina Automecanică Moreni, subsidiary ROMARM and ROMARO SA.
ROMARM National Company, member of OPIA Romania, held a B2B conference in which it presented the interest that the Romanian defence industry and implicitly the Romanian Army have for the development of partnerships and even a technological exchange with representatives of the Turkish defence industry. Thus, ROMARM management has shown interest in a partnership with Turkish manufacturers, for taking over the technology of manufacturing smart ammunition such as projectiles of different calibers, used for air defense or even Piranha 5 transporters. During the event, Romarm’s Director General, Gabriel Țuțu, stressed in an interview that this possible collaboration will be of real benefit to the Romanian Army as it will satisfy the demand for specialised ammunition, which can only be implemented quickly through a technological transfer.
As part of ICDDA 2022, a series of conferences were held with experienced moderators on topics such as civil aviation, land-to-air-naval systems, national security technologies, sustainability and supply chain development. We consider that this kind of conferences are an ideal platform for connecting professionals in the field, and OPIA Romania, by statute, promotes such events within the defence industry community.
